Thanks.  This does help a tiny bit, in that it verifies what
another unnamed source at IBM had told me -- that the audio chip 
used in the tp750 is manufactured by both Analog Devices and
Crystal Semiconductor.  (apparently the two chips are compatible)
If you find out any more, please let me (us?) know!
