I think the 3Com PCMCIA Ethernet adaptor is the best thing since
sliced bread. :)
The promotion is still on: $99 for a 10-BaseT only and $129 for
a combo (which is the same 10BaseT Card and cable, but also with a Coax
"tail" to attach to the card in place of the twisted-pair one). If you have
*any* doubt that you might need the coax, just fork over the extra $30 and
get it. Because if you don't do it now (under the promotion), then you'll have
to buy it (the coax connector) as an additional part later on--and that part
alone costs $99!
3Com can be reached at 800/638-3266. You'll push 2, then 1, and
then you need to ask for Promotions. If you are interested, I think they also
have their Etherlink III ISA/EISA/MC cards for desktop computers at promotional
prices too--$99 for 2 of them, regardless of type (10BaseT, Coax, or Combo--I
got the Combos just to be safe and flexible).
