Questions from a new 360Cs owner

Hi all,

I've recently acquired a Thinkpad 360Cs. For those who don't know, the 360
series is sort of an "economy" version of the 750 line. The 360s use
the same case design (with removable devices) and share many peripherals
with the 750 line. The main differences are the processor (486SX-33 SL), no
built-in audio, no parity memory, and no "smart" battery on the 360s.
Hm, there's probably another one or two minor things I've forgotten.
Hopefully this is close enough to the spirit of the 750 series to
allow questions in this forum!

At any rate, my 360Cs is still minimally configured, with only 4 megs/170
meg disk. Accordingly, I'm still running DOS/Windows, but after upgrading,
I hope to experiment with OS/2, SCO Unix or (maybe?) NeXTStep.

I do have a 3COM 3C589 PCMCIA Ethernet card for the unit, which seems to
work just fine (I'm using Beame and Whiteside's TCP/IP and NFS software,
maybe Windows for Workgroups soon).

Some general questions:

1 - Is there a source for the removable hard disk case? Will IBM sell them
without a disk inside? Or do I have to buy IBM disks for the unit?

2 - Does anybody know if third party memory is available for the 360 yet? I
understand that 750 memory will work, but if I don't need the parity
    bits...

3 - Battery life: what's the accepted wisdom for care of the nickel hydride
battery? Is it better to fully discharge the battery before recharging
it, or is better to keep it "topped up"?

4 - Has anybody tried NeXTStep on a Thinkpad?

Many thanks for any light folks might shed on these questions.
