I don't understand why the poll is being taken.  It seems silly
to be to restrict the list to discussion to proprietary operating
systems. (Speaking as someone who doesn't run either DOS or Windows
or OS/2 on his thinkpad...)

I think it should be fine to ask general questions about anything
having to do with the thinkpads, and to answer such questions,
on the list.  On the other hand, once the conversation has started,
any discussion which is not of general interest to the list should
be moved to private email.
