Sounds like you and I are doing exactly the same thing; I just got my
Sigma drive too and ran into the same problem.  Here's the geometry
information for this drive that let me get beyond this step (I'm just
now progressing to the next step).

# cylinders: 1571
# heads: 16
# sectors: 63


At the boot: prompt enter "ramdisk hd=1571,16,63" and you'll avoid the
complaint.
