I assume that this is still a problem.... I don't bother with a password.

This appears to only have applied to mono and dual scan based systems.
I have a 750C and the only major problems were:
- install mapped the Dock II's scsi irq on top of the Dock II's PCMCIA
status change irq
(This is documented only in the thinkpad's files. You must change
the irq for the second socket controller via a switch on the socket
services line.)
- Crystal Semi driver refused to keep YOUR hardware based volume
setting.
This is fixed in csd1, but issues with the Dock II remain. The work
around is to turn the volume on the machine to zero when docked.
