755CD info

I have a 755CD and would like to be able to fully use the CD-ROM drive
from Linux. I can access data CD's without any problems but I'm having
trouble with audio CD's. When I use a program that starts them playing
I can see the CD drive is active but no sound comes out the speakers
or the headphone jack.

Does anyone know how to get this working? Does anyone know someone
technical at IBM I can talk to?

I thought that maybe the audio output of the CD drive is going to the
DSP chip and since Linux hasn't activated it, it doesn't do anything
with the audio. If this is so, anyone know where/how to get more
info on the DSP? I don't expect to get the full sound blaster
compatability going in Linux (it would be nice though!!!! 8^) but I
would like it just to be able to pass through the CD audio.

Thanks for any help!
