Four 70ns memory upgrade products are introduced for ThinkPad(R) 755
systems as part of the IBM family of low-power (LP) memory expansion
cards:

o 32MB IC DRAM Memory -- 70ns 5v LP Parity
o 4MB SO DIMM Memory -- 70ns 5v LP Parity
o 8MB SO DIMM Memory -- 70ns 5v LP Parity
o 16MB SO DIMM Memory -- 70ns 5v LP Parity

The IBM IC (integrated circuit) DRAM (direct random access memory)
card is a credit card-sized memory expansion option designed for
ThinkPad and other laptop or portable computer applications. This
new option expands the current capacity of IC DRAM that plugs into a
ThinkPad 755 system.

The SO (small outline) DIMMs (dual inline memory modules) are also
memory expansion options designed for ThinkPad 755 systems and
packaged in a small space-saving card. These "SIMM-like" cards are
replacements for ThinkPad Options. A memory card adapter (84G2151)
is a prerequisite option for the SO DIMMs. With the prerequisite
adapter, two SO DIMMs can be plugged in at one time.

IBM 32MB IC DRAM MEMORY -- 70NS 5V LP PARITY (92G7235)

The 32MB IC DRAM Memory (#2123, 92G7235) upgrade card offers 32MB of
LP memory expansion for laptop and desktop systems. This credit
card-sized IC DRAM card can expand the internal memory of a laptop or
desktop by 32MB simply by inserting it into an IC DRAM slot.
Expanded DRAM capabilities can enable higher application performance
and more efficient system operation.

As part of an IBM family of low-power memory expansion cards, the
32MB IC DRAM Memory card supports low-power applications and aids in
the extension of a laptop battery's operational life between
recharges, as compared to non-low-power memory. The card is packaged
in IBM's durable, laser-welded, stainless steel package, and is quick
and convenient to install.

The 32MB IC DRAM Memory card is organized as 8M x 36 bits, supports
parity, operates at 5 volts LP with an access time of 70ns, and is
packaged in an 88-pin, credit card-sized, durable, stainless steel
card. It is designed to function in systems with slots conforming to
the JEIDA (Japan Electrical Industry Development Association)/JEDEC
(Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council) industry standard
guidelines 1.0 and 2.0 for DRAM cards.

Product Positioning: The 32MB IC DRAM Memory card provides a logical
growth path for system memory upgrades in IBM laptop systems. This
upgrade is an expansion of the IBM family of low-power memory
expansion options designed on a convenient and small form factor for
laptops and portables with compatible slots. With larger and more
powerful operating systems and applications becoming available, this
new 32MB upgrade can provide you with a cost-effective solution. If
only one upgrade slot is available on the system, you may want to
evaluate upgrading to the maximum, based on immediate and projected
future requirements.

IBM 16MB SO DIMM MEMORY -- 70NS 5V LP PARITY (92G7257)

The 16MB SO DIMM Memory (#3974, 92G7257) upgrade card offers 16MB of
low-power memory expansion to laptop systems. This small outline,
space-saving, 72-pin DIMM can expand the internal memory of a laptop
by 16MB simply by inserting it into an SO DIMM slot on the
prerequisite card (84G2151) that plugs into an IC DRAM socket.
Expanded memory capabilities can enable higher application
performance and more efficient system operation.

As part of an IBM family of low-power memory expansion cards, the
16MB SO DIMM Memory card supports low-power applications and aids in
the extension of a laptop battery's operational life between
recharges, as compared to non-low-power memory. The cards are
packaged in a small form approximately 2.35-inches long by 1-inch
high with 72-pin, gold-plated contacts on a staggered, dual row.

The 16MB SO DIMM Memory card is organized as 4M x 36 bits, supports
parity, operates at 5 volts LP with an access time of 70ns, and is
packaged on a 72-pin, small outline, space-saving card. It is
designed to function in systems that support 16-, 32-, and 64-bit
applications.

Product Positioning: The 16MB SO DIMM Memory card provides a logical
growth path for system memory upgrades in IBM laptop systems. This
upgrade is part of an IBM family of low-power memory expansion
options designed on a small form factor for laptops and portables
with compatible slots. With larger and more powerful operating
systems and applications becoming available, the 16MB upgrade can
provide you with a cost-effective solution. Using the prerequisite
card (84G2151), two SO DIMM cards can be plugged into this card. You
may want to evaluate upgrading to the maximum, based on immediate and
projected future requirements.
