I owned a BusToaster before, but bought an Adaptec later on.  Adaptec is the
only one, as far as I know, which also support OS/2.  I use the Adaptec with
my NEC CD-ROM and Zip Drive.  Both work fine.  the only possible problem are
connectors.  Adaptec came with a 50pin Centronic.  Zip has a 25 pin.  NEC
uses a Hi Den SCSI-2 Connector.  No idea about scanners and Linux.
