I'd take it to an authorized dealer & have them check the DRAM socket. The Viking Platinum is the best IC DRAM I've seen for seamless installation in 75Xes. I don't know if the other card you tried was also parity, but if it wasn't, there's a strange ritual you have to go through to get some OEM non-parity DRAM cards to work in these boxes. No chickens involved, but in case you or anyone else needs this, I'll save you the hours I spent awaiting tech support for this tip: With parity checking *Enabled* in Easy Setup, turn off the laptop. install the non-parity DRAM card. turn the machine on, holding down F1. ******This is the important part. It must be done the *first* time you turn it on with non-parity card installed****** if you get a 201 at boot, ignore it for now & don't run memory test if it doesn't force you to before entering Setup (sometimes it forces you to, sometimes it doesn't) in Easy Setup, disable parity checking. That's it. simple trick, but it took three calls to tech support before I found someone who'd heard this little gem. Michael J.
