LinuX + IC-Ether Card in TP?
Hi Friends,
at the moment, I have LinuX 1.2.10 on my Thinkpad 730 (not yet 12 MB, but
4 MB RAM with Swap) and try to use the PCMCIA-Port with my PCMCIA-
Card (IC-Card), in DOS it detects an D-Link 650 Card. So with DOS i can
use the novell-net and also tcpip. But in Linux, the PCMCIA-Support
(installed and started in rc.pcmcia), cant' detect the Card, the cardmgr
tells me
kernel: LinuX PCMCIA Card Services 2.6.0
kernel: Intel PCIC Probe:
kernel: Intel i82365sl rev 3 at 0x3e0, 2 sockets
kernel: irq mask (scanned) = 0x8eb8, status change on irq 15
cardmgr[32]: starting
cardmgr[32]: cardmgr.c 1.54 1995/04/20 20:51:27 (David Hinds)
cardmgr[32]: watching 2 sockets
cardmgr[32]: could not adjust resource: IO ports 0x378-0x37f: I/O error
cardmgr[32]: could not adjust resource: memory 0xd0000-0xdffff: Device or
resource busy
cardmgr[32]: initializing socket 1
cardmgr[32]: socket 1: D-Link DE-650 Ethernet Card
in case of _not_ starting the card before under DOS, there is coming:
cardmgr[32]: initializing socket 1
cardmgr[32]: unsupported card in socket 1
cardmgr[32]: no version info
in the /etc/pcmcia/config is already standing:
include port 0x2e0-0x3ff
include memory 0xd0000-0xdffff
#
#
exclude irq4, port 0x3f8-0x3ff
include irq7, port 0x378-0x37f
include memory 0xd0000-0xdffff
...I don't know why it doesn't work. There is also no device called
de650_cs or so in /dev, i just can't use the card in my Thinkpad 730.
Any Hints, Suggestions or so? I would be happy to get some help.
Thx in advance,
Hanno
