OS/2, WIN95 and THinkpads
Some of the earlier correspondents in this thread may not be aware that IBM
*does* bundle OS/2 with ThinkPads that can run it effectively. The machine is
factory-configured to give you an "are you sure?" marketing screen about OS/2
if you decide to boot to Windows instead of OS/2, whereas choosing OS/2 yields
no such deterrent.

Even the Windows software installation documentation for the 755CD was
incorrect, instructing the reader to run installation files that don't exist,
or that are in different locations than those documented. I don't know if
this misdocumentation is associated with the 755CD or simply with ThinkPads
shipped at that time. Robert's comments suggest that IBM is now shipping more
current documentation with the 755CX. Can anyone say whether IBM is now
shipping current and correct OS installation documentation with other models?

Actually, Robert, what you really said earlier is "It is much better to just
kill a thread you don't like," and "Why should you feel you have to make the
decision for everyone else?" I'm happy to learn that you now feel otherwise.
Be seeing you...
