The sound chips in the TP750 are fine for MS-Windows, but the Soundblaster
compatibility program is software only and will _not_ work with the MS-DOS
"extenders" which are so popular in newer ms-dos arcade games like Doom,
Decent, etc.

The point is, unfortunately, nobody has gotten sound effects to work with
Doom/Heretic.  IBM has lost interest in it since the newer 755CE/CD/CX etc
notebooks with the MWave chip can hardware emulate a Soundblaster and thus
work with Doom, etc.

Note that many MS-DOS games which do not utilize a 32-bit dos extender work
fairly well with the 750 software soundblaster compatibility program.
"Wolfenstein 3D" sound runs just fine on the 750, for example, as do many of
the Sierra adventure games (i played Police Quest 3 for a while on a 750C
and got the sound effects).
