It isn't a bug it's a feature!! If your CX is the same as my 755C the
screen dimming is meant to help with power management. You can chnge
to a bright screen under battery power by typing "ps2 br n" at
the DOS prompt. If you want the battery saving dim feature enter "ps2
br e" ( the n and e are for normal and economy). By the way since br e
Is the default anytime you reset the machine back to factory defaults
you will be back to the brightness economy
