SOLUTION: Panasonic KXL-D720 CDROM & Win95

I now have the Panasonic PCMCIA KXL-D720 CD-ROM drive working great under Win95.

The solution is to get their latest Win95 beta driver, released Aug 29th 1995.
This is the second beta they have released.

I have placed a copy at:
    ftp://ftp.engr.wisc.edu/pub/todds-area/d720_w95.exe

It ends up wanting to call itself as a "KXLC001 SCSI Controller" as opposed
to a "CD-ROM Controller", which I personally find encouraging! (for possibly
using other devices with the card)

Everything seems to work well, including hot swapping and the Win95 CD-ROM
"Auto Play". The only "gotcha" is be certain to STOP the PCMCIA card before
ejecting it, else things get real ugly and you'll may have to reboot. To
STOP the card, you can simply left mouse click on the PC-Card tray icon on
the task bar, or go to the control panel and click on "PC Card".

I'll check with Panasonic in a few more weeks for the official "release"
version of the driver, and let folks know when it appears .

Enjoy,
Todd
