re doom go to ftp site ftp.idsoftware.com and get the update pack for your doom to the latest. check your version of doom, say 1.x first. Then get the update from 1.x to 1.9 (this'll fix your problem) and the upgrade from 1.9 to the ultimate doom, ie. the free 9 new levels !! all the best. edmund.
