Mwave modem problems

Hi,

I'm looking for help or advice ... my tp755cd mwave modem behaves
intermittently weirdly ... I've got the latest drivers and
have installed both patches ..

The problem is with term or similar; about a third of the time
it works fine. The rest of the time, atdt<phone#> results in
**an audible dial tone via the speaker** but the command always
comes back with "no dial tone"

Any pointers would be appreciated ..
