Re: 760 Advertisement

The latest PC/Mac Connection call has lsitings for the new TP 760's.
Unfortunately no prices ("call"). Spec's are as follows:

  760C: 10.4" active matrix screen, 90MHz Pentium, 720 HD, Tilt keyboard w/
  palm rest. 11.7"x8.3"x2", 6.4 Lbs. (IBM Part#9546-U22)
  760C: 12.1" active matrix screen, 90MHz Pentium, 720 HD, Tilt keyboard w/

760CD: 12.1" active matrix screen, 90MHz Pentium, 1.2GB HD, Tilt

760C: 12.1" active matrix screen, 120MHz Pentium, 720 HD, Tilt
  keyboard w/ palm rest. 11.7"x8.3"x2", 7.3 Lbs.
  (IBM Part#9546-U27)

PC/Mac connection is at 1-800-800-0002. Prices for the above machines
are $5649, $6329, $7719, and N/A, respectively. Availability date is
listed as early October but I was advised to not take it seriously.
The machines have a LiIon battery and space for a second battery.
They have 28.8kbps Mwave modem firmware. The 12.1" screen is 800x600,
*not* 1024x768 :-(.

I like the idea of a palmrest but I think I'm going to see if 755CX's
show up at closeout prices in the next few weeks. The 760 is a lot
less interesting than it sounded, if it only has 800x600.
