This came up before, and I think the answer from an ibm tech was that the
trackpoint is periodically polled for it's position, and that position is
made the new "center".

Seems the problem they didn't consider is that you may be pushing on it
during a poll, and when you release it, you're no longer in what it thinks
is the center.

Basically, just live with it, you can't fix it, and when it happens, just
wait a bit for it to right itself.

One odd note, this used to happen to me from time to time in win3.1, but I
just realized that I can't recall it happening even once since I switched to
win95 a year ago..  Just lucky?  Can anyone confirm that the problem still
occurs in win95?  I thought it was something in rom, not the mouse driver.

Oh, I have a 755cs (but the same thing happened on my 720)
