Re: EMM386 error on 755C

"....I use a 755CE at work, and have two co-workers with 755C's. Almost every
time they exit Windows they recive the following message:
"EMM386 has detected error #06 in an application at memory address
00B8:0B89. To minimize the chance of data loss, EMM386 has halted your
computer. For more information, see the README.TXT file.
To restart your computer, press Enter."...."

are you on a network? i saw this same message over and over on 360C's, 755CD's
and a 755Cs. it was the exact symptoms you describe-- it happened almost
every time i exited windows. it stopped when xircom replaced all of our
ethernet cards. we use the 'credit card adapter IIps' (10BaseT) and apparently
there was a thinkpad-specific problem with these cards that xircom fixed in the
latest revision. they replaced 11 of them for us at no charge. i have seen it
once or twice in the last few months since the replacement, but with 16
thinkpads in use, one 'error #06' per month isn't enough for me to pursue. if
you're not using this card, perhaps the one you're using has a similar problem.
