Thinkpad 360Cs. IBM High Speed Modem. ATM0. Same click pop noise.
You're not alone, brother. :)
I usually end up hitting Fn-F5 to turn the speaker totally off. OF
course, then I always wonder why my Lotus Notes "new mail" sounds never
happen. Can't win.
