cd drives and zip drives

I'm considering taking the long delayed jump into the world of CD
drives and I would appreciate hearing from others regarding the best
device to get. I am running Warp on a 750 mono with 20 megs ram and a
540 meg drive. I don't plan on carting this thing around the
country, so portability is not a prime factor. Speed is the most
important factor for my needs.

People on this list have talked about the Panasonic portable drive,
and
I think I remember it being mentioned that Warp drivers are available.
This option has the added benefit of an included SCSI PCMCIA card,
which I assume can be chained to other SCSI devices. I like the fact
that the SONY drive also acts as a stand alone audio cd player, but I
can find no mention of WARP drivers for this. I have also seen adds
for Zenith and Reno drives, but I've had bad luck with Zeniths in the
past, and Reno is a pretty unknown commodity. Then there is also the
SCSI card - external CD drive option. Do any of these options include
a game port?

Any advice and experience would be greatly appreciated. In the
interest of keeping traffic down, please respond to me directly, and I
will compile them for the list.

Thanks.
