News on the Butterfly
It seems the folks who speculated (or passed on a rumor) about the
Butterfly being phased-out were on the money. Here's a tidbit from

Information Week via Individual Inc. : IBM's popular "butterfly" ThinkPad
701C will soon be fluttering away. The company now favors thinner and
lighter notebook designs with full-size keyboards over the Butterfly, which
is smaller but has a unique retractable keyboard that expands to full size
when the unit is opened, sources say. Though an IBM spokesman says the fate
of the Butterfly hasn't been determined, sources say it will be phased out
after a one-inch-thick portable with a 12.1-inch color screen is
introduced in April.
