odd SLIP warnings in Warp Connect

I'm running Mwave 2.0 on a Thinkpad 760 going to Netcom via TIA.
The SLIP window occasionally displays these messages:
[COMW] Warning: only XX of YY bytes written
where XX always seems to be a multiple of 16 like 0, 16, 32, 80, etc.
and YY is greater than XX like 34, 88, etc.
The result is that SLIP performance slows because the Thinkpad
retransmits.
I've tried backing down the 38.4K speed of the COM port down to
19.2K, but it doesn't make a difference.

It seems like an OS/2 Mwave bug with buffering. Has anyone else
had this problem? Any idea who to report this problem to?

 thanks,
