You may be right and lucky. 100 Watts om mains current is less than 1
Ampere. In 12 Volt 100-140  watts is   8-12 Ampere which is what the thing
must be able to draw out of the car battery and handle before conversion.
The units I looked at to a reasonable price did not have enough handling
capacity and the price got very high when the rating reached 10A.
