ThinkPad <--> Dock II (95)

After my posting of yesterday regarding my success with Hot Docking and
Undocking under '95 with the Dock II and 755, I received several queries as
to how I did it. Here are the Cliff-Notes:

Open up your Dock II and find the dip-switch bank that sets up the SCSI Host
adapter. (It's in the middle, towards the back, sort of nestled on top of
some other framework.) Set the first three switches to the On position and
leave the fourth one Off. This will disable the Host BIOS but leave the
board itself active so you can still have access to your SCSI devices. (You
may or may not be able to boot from a SCSI Hard Drive, but most people
prefer to boot from the Internal anyway.) After that, docking and undocking
seems to work like a charm.

Note: You may find that '95 thinks there are conflicts between your Docked
and Undocked display configurations. My system gave me an error indicating
such a problem even though both settings were the same. Though this is a
benign error and you can ignore it, I was annoyed so I solved it too. The
solution is also fairly simple. Just go to your system configurations and
delete the undocked one. Shut down your machine, undock, and reboot. Your
system will detect the new configuration and all will be well with the world.

Anyway, let me know how all this works for you.
