Oh, and also when dialling from the Hotel Room, the modem wouldn't recognise the dial tone (it's rather strange) so I had to dissable dial tone detecton on the modem. The German Telecom Telephone connectors are a little strange (they have two lines available on one plug [fax/voice]), but you can buy a US-RJ-11 jack to German Telephone Jack for hardly anything. Then just plug in your modem and dial away.
