Dark Screen on 701

I had the same problem on the 701:
disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the
battery pack for some hours (sometimes half an hour may be
enough but better wait...)

Everthing should be ok. If this doesn't help disconnect the
cmos battery (tis should be done by a technician, says IBM.
Probably you won't have the kind of screwdrivers you will
need for the TP housing.)

The problem probably got to do with the missing reset button.
