mwave 2.0 on MSDOS (not PCDOS) -- soundblaster

I am trying to get the mwave soundblaster emulation under the mw 2.0 software  
to go (DOS and/or Windows).  I have pretty much isolated it from interference  
in the config.sys and autoexec.bat files.  It is installed in c:\config\mwd\,  
not \mwd.  Unfortunately,
	mwgames on min
tells me that the sound blaster emulation could not be enabled.  fastcfg just  
has soundblaster chacked for SB 1.5 emulation, but under hardware, I see that  
it is disabled.

Has anyone else had similar difficulties?
