Dock 1 compatibility

I almost bought a dock 1, but after checking many Linux sites and posting a  
query here, I decided it was at the very least a risky proposition.  The last  
notice on the linux doc sites about the dock 1 was that someone had tried to  
install an earlier version of linux (around 1.0) and had failed, even though  
it also was a future domain set.  Now, installation is different than  
recognition once installed.  You may have a better shot at using it than  
installing from it.

If you buy it, and find out that it works, I would like to know.
