Well, folks, in the unknowable ways of the universe, when I decided to sell my PC Card modem, *my* internal modem starts dying during downloads! No, no, I'm fine, thanks. Since this has been discussed so much, I've tweaked my init string and everything's fine - almost. According to the manual, the M and L commands are supposed to adjust the speaker settings (on and off) and volume settings, respectively. Do these work for anyone?
