Maxtor makes a 12.5mm 1.0 and 1.2 GB drive in that range.  IBM just
announced drives in that size range too (I sent part of news report
on it to this group last month).  I think there was another company
as well.

But I'd heard rumored on comp.sys.laptops that the 701's BIOS could
only handle the 540 and 720 drives made by IBM.  I've no idea if that's
true.
