the most part all you need is to make sure you get one with a serial link
and that has the features you want. The Garmins are nice, with the 45 being
reasonably priced, but they put a deliberate limit on the max speed it can
track (aprox 100knots if I recall) so you have to buy the more expensive one
for aviation use.
