        The modem actually handles v.32terbo, which does the 19+K speed you
cite.  It was a proprietary "speed bump up" that came out some time after
v.32bis became popular/cheap enough to buy.  I think owned & licensed it
out.  Didn't seem to get all that popular until too late (v.fast-class
modems were already making inroads in preparation for v.34).

        At any rate, consider it a nice little "bonus" to help make up for
the fact that you can't do 28.8.  ;-)
