Has anyone tried a low level format to get rid of the password? I
have never located an IBM low level format routine, but this might
work if the information is saved on the disk itself. If the
information is saved in EEPROM you might be able to desolder it and
reprogram. If someone could figure out how to defeat the password
they could buy many drives cheaply.
