I don't think you need to do anything to have the BIOS recognize the new disk (at least this is true with IBM disks). As for booting off floppy, you most likely accidentally told easysetup not to boot from the floppy, go into the appropriate screen, and make sure that the floppy is set as your primary boot device (i.e. it is sitting in the first box on the screen).
