the problems i was having accessing the jaz drive i bought to get some data back led me to switch from wfwg 3.11 to win95. got the data back but lost my slip/ppp via trumpet winsock with a 14400 modem on com1. 755CE decided to give the mwave modem a try - had done so earlier but the problems were not worth the hassle at the time. got the latest mwave - 2.11 - installed but it is just not being recognized. did everything in the ibm www page 'mwwtips.html' list, but ... 1. d. 'make sure the modem is set to com2 irq1' the mwave modem keeps showing up as set to com3. if i set something like procomm plus to com3 i get a resonse from the modem, but can't get beyond to get a dial tone, etc. (if i set procomm plus to com2, no response from the modem.) and, when i get to the bottom, 3.e., 'FISHISH, YES to restart ...' the system hangs, presumably because the next bit 'The Wizard should correctly find Mwave modem on com2' is not being satisfied. the install procedure seems to keep installing the modem on com3 when it is supposed to be on com2. suggestions welcomed (and appreciated)! regards, al Alden S Klovdahl / alden.klovdahl@anu.edu.au / fax: +61 62 49 05 25 Sociology Arts / Australian National University / Canberra ACT Australia 0200
