Re: Win95 startup annoyance + related (??) modem problem



in control panel/power, power management can be set to 'off,' 'standard,' or 
'advanced.'  make sure it's set to advanced.  restart & you should see 
'advanced power management support' under 'system devices' in device manager.  
select it, hit 'properties' & go to the 'settings' tab.  make sure 'enable 
power management support' is checked.  none of the other boxes on the page 
should be checked.

if these settings are already correct, then i don't know what the problem is.  
installing the win95 thinkpad utilities & rebooting once *should* have made 
these changes already.
