Introducing myself
Folks
Am delighted to find this Thinkpad group. This is in response to request
to "introduce myself" -- which, I suspect, means introduce the machine:
755CSE, 540M HD, 16M RAM, WFWG (tho considering biting the Win95 bullet),
QEMM, Port Replicator, external monitor, keyboard, etc., Zip drive,
Toshiba SCSI CD-rom drive. Primary use is as a desktop that I can
occasionally take with me; word processing. Games.
Question of you Tpad Faxworks users: I just ran into a problem trying to
fax a coworker with a fax/answering machine who has a long voice message
preceding the fax option. Apparently his machine doesn't recognize the
incoming fax call right off. I have not figured a way around this in
Faxworks; by the time the voice message is over, Faxworks has quit trying
to connect. Anyone have a suggestion that will work on my end? Plan to
ask him if there's a way he can change settings on his end. . .Am hoping
to fax him every night to compensate for network failure to connect him
to the office system.
In return, only piece of probably useless trivia I can pass on is to
anyone who has been frustrated trying to run the new Sierra games on
Thinkpads (at least, the 755 series) - The Aptiva patch (Phantfix) fixed
the problem for me and caused no problems with my Mwave.
