        Most any decent memory has warranties, etc.  If you're paranoid,
stick with "ThinkPad Approved" stuff to avoid voiding your 3-year warranty.

        One last thing though, especially if you're running (or plan to run)
Win 95--don't bother with 8 MB, just get a 16 MB module.  Its still quite
cheap now ($200?) and you won't regret not upgrading to a larger RAM module.
I can almost guarantee that later on you'll wish you had shelled out a
little more when RAM was cheap.

        If you're running DOS and/or Win 3.1, an 8 MB RAM Module is just
fine.  OS/2 or Win 95?  Get the bigger one.
