new hp omnibook



The main thing I haven't liked about any of the older Omnibooks
is the keyboards are terrible (too stiff, etc).  They also tend
to have nonstandard hardware (weird kbd controller etc.) that
prevent running Linux.

Cardbus is a hack that allows attaching what are basically full
speed PCI devices using the PCMCIA socket.  It can also support
regular PCMCIA cards (which are a lot slower).  Great stuff.
