        I've stayed out of this to see all the neat/creative/inexpensive
solutions people came up with, but now that seems to have come to a head,
let me state the obvious:

        LapLink for Win 95.

        I used to use a little DOS program called "FastLynx" that did all
this wonderfully, but since Win 95 added long filenames, etc. I bought
LapLink 7.0 (for Win 95) and I have not been the slightest bit
disappointed--its VERY good. Works over cables, IR (though I can't get the
IR to work on the 701, but fine on the 560), Ethernet (IPX, TCP/IP), etc.
Does a great job of syncing, and its a lot faster than the "briefcase" thing.

        Anyway, it ain't free--costs about $100 or so, but well worth the
$$$ in my opinion. And to top it all off, it gives you remote access
capability over phone/modem, ethernet, and even the internet (and by cable).
Its *really* great.

        Anyway, all this other stuff has its advantages (inexpensive/free,
small, etc.), but overall, I highly recommend LapLink--I wouldn't settle for
anything less, now that I've had a taste of how great it is.
