There is a lot of good information in the FAQ as well as at the
IBM PC FTP site. You can also get the latest drivers and BIOS from
that site.
  ftp://swiss-ftp.ai.mit.edu/archive/thinkpad/faq/
  ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/ -- /pub/mobiles or something similar)

It depends on your power management configuration and whether you're
accessing the disk a lot.

My battery runs out after an hour and quarter of continuous disk
thrashing under Win95. It lasts just under 2 hours w/ Win95 under
"normal" conditions for me (fast processor speed, 5 min HD spindown,
1 active PCMCIA slot). I can squeeze out about 2.5 hours under DOS
with slow processor speed, 1 min HD spindown (with no further spinup),
and continuous use of my PCMCIA modem.

I've seen ads on the misc.forsale.* groups for new or like-new TP750
batteries in the $100 range. But you'll likely pay a higher price
in UK.
