IBM 2.1G 17mm in TP 755?? Decision time

I am down to decision time on buying a drive for my 755CD. Has ANYONE
ANYWHERE tried and succeded (or failed for that matter) in installing the
2.1G IBM DCRA-22160 17mm drive in a TP 755 machine?? I have been told that
the problem may go beyond just the master/slave jumper incompatibility,
which seems easy to deal with. If I can't find a definitive answer, the
fallback is for the Toshiba MK2101MAN. I would like to have the thin IBM
drive for future transfers to thin notebooks...but not if it doesn't work.
