Re: IBM 2.1G 17mm in TP 755?? Decision time
Thanks for this info. Do you know where I can find the announcement, part
numbers and costs? The biggest wildcard is costs. There is now a 17mm, 2.1G
drive for the TP755 from somewhere (Sigma?), but it is $1600. That's about
$1000 more than the Toshiba...saving 2mm of height isn't worth $1000. There
are places that have the IBM DCRA-22160 for about $900. I'm still not sure
the 2mm is worth the $300 differential. But if the new drives were
guaranteed to work and were around the $900 price, they would be an option
to consider.
