You are correct re: disabling dialtone detection, but you will still need
to have a pause or the modem will try to dial after the 9 and before dial
tone is established by the PBX, and that is where the "commas " comes in,
they will cause the modem to pause before attempting to dial.
I have found three "commas " to often suffice without having to disable
dialtone detection, try it,,,you won't be sorry.{ 9,,,XXX-XXXX }.
