Re: TP701 Screens washed out.



Hi Steve and to everyone on the Thinkpad mailing list-

This is my first post here. I have been subscribed to the
list for about a week now. It seems to be an excellent source
of information.

I just received my 701C yesterday. It has the Dx4-75MHz CPU,
24 MB RAM, and 540 HD. I installed Win 95 on it last night, and 
am very pleased with its performance. I was expecting it to really
slow the system down, but it hasn't. I couldn't be happier!

Now Steve, to your question. After the Win 95 install, I went to 
the Chips & Technologies web site and downloaded the new 
drivers. In the display settings, it is listed as 'Chips and Technologies,
Accelerator' (new). I'm not sure what was changed in this new 
version, but everything works as well as it did with the originals.
I have also used these drivers with a Zenith Z-STAR EX, and they
worked great also. Give them a try; if they don't fix your problem
then contact IBM.
