Just order an IBM Thinkpad 701 RAM upgrade! The store will know what fits.

New CPU's for Laptops are REALLY expensive.
But if you want it badly some companys offer an AMD K5 100MHz upgrade.

BTW: More RAM gives you more performance for less money in most cases.
