But they could always solder in the old chip again - if done properly and the board is cleaned afterwards it'd be pretty hard to tell it was ever out. Since they include this in the deal you should be fairly safe. A bigger risk would be you send it in to IBM for something like a keyboard repair and IBM swaps out the board with the cpu on it for whatever reason too - then you're back to the stock chip. Billy Y..
