Assuming that you have the "universal" power supply which operates
automaticallyy over the range 110-240 VAC & 50-60 Hz (and not the 110VAC
power supply furnished with some Thinkpads in North America), you should
have no trouble.

I've used 750C and 755CD Thinkpads with the universal supply in Hong Kong,
Europe, and the Middle East.  Also, I've used a Compaq with a similar
universal supply in Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Guangzhou (Canton),
Singapore, and Malaysia.  You will need either an adapter for the local
power outlets so that you can plug your power cord into the wall or a cord
with a local power plug on one end and a US type computer socket on the
other, but you can generally obtain these wherever you are.  If you have
the universal supply, you will not need a stepdown transformer.
